We function at a fraction of our capacity. One of the main obstacles to overcoming self-imposed limitations is fear! Fear is created by a thought. Once you had allowed that thought to enter your mind, it creates a behavior. You have to prevent negative thoughts from entering into your mind.
8 steps to overcome imposed limitattions:
1) Believe in yourself!
2) Keep track of what causes you to put yourself down.
3) Be actively conscious of your negative self-talk.
Every time you start to put yourself down, say "Stop"
4) Keep a chart of how many times a day you can keep yourself from thinking these negative thoughts.
5) Recognise your strengths and set your goals accordingly.
6) Decide what is of value to you materially, emotionally and spiritually and set youself accordingly.
7) Do not accept negativity and criticism from other people if the criticism are of a personal nature
8) Do not allow yourself to get disappointed if you do not reach your goals.
In the words of Henry Thoreau :
"If one advances confidently in the directions of his dreams and endeavours to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with the success unexpected in common hours. He will put some things behind and pass invisible boundaries. If you have build castles in the air, your work need not be lost. That is where they should be. Now put the foundation under them. "

Father of American Psychology- William James
William James, the Harvard Psychologist known as the Father of American Psychology, once said:
"The greatest discovery of the 19th century was not in the realm of the physical sciences, but the power of the subconscious mind touched by faith. Any individual can tap into an eternal reservoir of power that will enable them to overcome any problem that may arise. All weaknesses can be overcome, bodily healing, financial independence, spiritual awakening, prosperity beyond your wildest dreams. This is the superstructure of happiness."
